Matthew Baranoski (born July 27, 1993 in Perkasie , Pennsylvania ) is a retired American track cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2008, Matthew Baranoski, who grew up near the Valley Preferred Cycling Center , won the US youth sprint title . In 2010 and 2011 he was third in the sprint at the UCI-Bahn World Championships for Juniors, and in 2010 he was third in the Keirin .

By 2015 he had won twelve national championship titles in the short-term disciplines on the track. In December 2015, he finished third in the Keirin at the second round of the Track Cycling World Cup in Cambridge, New Zealand . The following year he was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to start in the Keirin; he finished 17th.

Private

In addition to his cycling career, Matthew Baranoski studied electrical engineering at Pennsylvania State University .
