Uniunea Social Liberală ( German  Social-Liberal Union ) USL for short , was a Romanian party alliance of the social democratic PSD with the right-wing liberal PNL and the socially conservative PC from 2011 to the beginning of 2014 .

history

The alliance was founded on February 5, 2011 by Victor Ponta from the Social Democratic Party , Crin Antonescu from the National Liberal Party and Daniel Constantin from the Conservative Party . On May 7, 2012, the cabinet named after Ponta submitted to the vote of confidence and was confirmed with 284 votes in favor (231 necessary) and 92 against.

Of 412 MPs (April 2013), the party alliance had 278 representatives in the House of Representatives.

In the first half of 2014, the party alliance was dissolved, according to the then chairman of the National Liberals, Klaus Johannis .
