The house at Breite Straße 14 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located northeast of the city's market square and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. To the south of the house there is the also listed building at Breite Strasse 13 , to the north by the house at Breite Strasse 15 .

Architecture and history

The core of the large three-storey half - timbered house dates back to around 1668. The half-timbered facade is decorated with pyramid beam heads , diamond crosses and ship throats . For the period around 1680, the building was run by the master carpenter Martin Lange . According to the Amsberg local history researcher, there was the inscription M.MAERTEN LANGE referring to Lange on the threshold . A striking feature is a polygonal bay window attached to the southern half of the house on the first floor . In the 19th century, both the facade and the back of the building were renewed.

The building's front door dates from the Baroque period .
