The house at Breite Straße 48 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located northeast of the city's market square at the confluence of Stieg and Breite Strasse and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . In the Quedlinburg monument register it is registered as a residential and commercial building. The building, which is also a listed building, borders on Breite Straße 49 to the south .
Architecture and history
The three-storey half - timbered house was built around 1780. A striking feature is a bay window on the top floor facing the street corner . The ground floor and first floor were fundamentally rebuilt in the period 1905/1910. The half-timbered construction was replaced by a steel construction for the establishment of a department store. The design took place in the Art Nouveau style , with neoclassical elements also being used.
