The house at Breite Straße 31 is a formerly listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The building is located north of the city's market square, on the east side of Breite Straße.

Architecture and history

The building, referred to in the Quedlinburg monument register as a merchant's courtyard, was built in massive construction in the style of classicism . The gate entrance framed by pilasters is particularly striking . The fillings of the gate are decorated with carvings.

On the courtyard side there are two half-timbered wings. The north wing was built in 1691, the south wing in 1709. The builder C. Zimmermann is given as the builder on the south wing . It is assumed that this may be the master carpenter known under the Signum LZM . There is a belt profile on the building . With the year of creation 1709 it is the earliest appearance of this design element in Quedlinburg.

A warehouse belonging to the property is built on the city wall.

While the property was still listed in the list of monuments published in 1998, it is no longer mentioned there, at least from 2015.
