location

It was located northeast of the Quedlinburg town hall , at the confluence of the street Hoken on the Breite Straße.

Architecture and history

The four-storey half - timbered house was built around 1525. A protruding gable and the high, steep roof of the house were striking. On the half-timbered facade there was a so-called column arrangement . In addition, there was parapet and filler wood. Strongly profiled ship throat , which showed similarities to a trapezoidal profile , were used as decorations . The beam heads were decorated with pear stick shapes. There were also shield cleats and flared head braces. There were curved St. Andrew's crosses in the parapets of the first and second floors . However, they were later removed on the first floor.

Around 1900, in connection with the expansion of the neighboring town hall, the building was demolished.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the southern part of the Breiten Straße was renumbered. The number 1 was reassigned to the previous house at Breite Straße 4.
