Architecture and history

The two-story, massive building is probably one of the oldest residential buildings in the city of Quedlinburg. Remains of a biforium and a triforium can be seen on the north gable of the house . It was probably built around 1300. The house was probably self- fortified in the early Gothic period. The building was rebuilt in the 18th century. At times it served as the rectory of the Saint Benedict parish . The house is plastered towards the street, the profile walls are decorated with stucco . The front door dates from around 1800 and has a diamond -shaped skylight.

There is a round arched passage towards the courtyard . In addition, a pointed arch can be seen on the house and two pointed arched openings on the upper floor.

A wing of the building on the north side of the courtyard was built in half-timbered construction . The compartments are provided with various decorative linings.
