The University of Bangui ( French Université de Bangui ) is a state university in Bangui , in the Central African Republic . It is one of two universities in the country alongside the international Euclid University founded in 2008.

history

The university was founded on November 12, 1969 after the FESAC ( Fondation de l'enseignement supérieur en Afrique centrale ) program for former French colonies was dissolved. As part of this program, Bangui owned an agricultural research center. The aim of the newly founded university was primarily to train national executives. Today most of the graduates work for the state.

Institutional structure

The university is divided into five faculties , which in turn are divided into further departments. These are the Faculty of Health Sciences (FACSS), the Faculty of Economics and Management (FASEG), the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FSJP), the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FS) and the Faculty of Humanities (FLSH). There are also four institutes and a vocational school as well as nine research centers.

The principal is Gustave Bobossi Serengbe.

Research and Teaching

In addition to agriculture , the natural sciences, law, economics, rural development and humanities are also represented. The first PhD at Bangui University was accepted in 2009.
