The steam and tractor meeting in the open-air museum at Kiekeberg is an annual festival at which steam engines and tractors are shown and demonstrated to those interested. The festival has been held every September since 1989 in the Rosengarten community in the Harburg district. This makes this festival one of the oldest steam festivals of its kind in Germany. The festival is organized by folklorist Alexander Eggert from the open-air museum on the Kiekeberg . The idea of showing parts of the museum's agricultural engineering collection in action resulted in the meeting with tractor and vintage car enthusiasts, at which the annual focus is on tractors and every two years steam engines.

Selected pieces from the open-air museum's collection will also be put into operation for the event. A spare parts market is also part of the program. The meeting is the most traditional event on the Kiekeberg .

In addition to around 200 tractors, old fire engines, motorcycles and restored historic steam engines were on display. According to the museum, over 10,000 visitors came to the event in 2008.

In 2009, almost 500 classic cars were shown at the 21st meeting. The meeting in 2009 was dominated by tractors from Ritscher and the Unimog . Steam engines were not shown regularly. Over 7,000 visitors came.

At the 22nd meeting in 2010, around 400 tractors and steam engines from several countries as well as a steam car were shown at the two-day event . The minimum age for participating tractors was 30 years. On both days there were tractor parades on the circular path of the extension site.

In 2012 the annual tractor meeting took place for the 24th time. In addition to the event, milestones in tractor history were presented in the Agrarium .
