The University of Brunei Darussalam ( Malay : Universiti Brunei Darussalam , Jawi : يونيبرسيتي بروني دارالسلام, usually just UBD ) is one of two universities and a total of ten tertiary educational institutions in the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam . It was founded on October 28, 1985 and is located north of Bandar Seri Begawan .

The language of instruction is predominantly English; however, some courses are also taught in Malay .
