Unk (born December 28, 1982 in Atlanta , Georgia - also known there as DJ Unk; actually Anthony Platt ) is an American rapper and DJ .

Life

DJ Unk started playing records in 1998 . He met DJ Jelly and DJ Montay , whose DJ group called Southern Style DJs he joined. Together they performed at high school parties, graduation balls, solidarity shows, and other Georgia events. As a result, the Atlanta - based underground label Big Oomp took notice of him and took him under their wing to improve his skills. He now appeared regularly on mixtapes , both on his own and on those of other DJs. In 2006, after a guest appearance on The Franchize Boyz (who went to high school with Unk) album On Top of Our Game , his single Walk It Out developed from a regional to a national hit, which went to number 10 on the Billboard - Single charts advanced. He then released his debut album Beat'n Down Yo Block .
