Coordinates: 34 ° 57 ′  S , 138 ° 36 ′  E The City of Unley is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . Unley belongs to the metropolis of Adelaide , the capital of South Australia. The area is 14 km² and has about 37,500 inhabitants (2016).

Unley is in the center of Adelaide and borders the city center to the north. The area includes 16 neighborhoods: Black Forest, Clarence Park, Everard Park, Forestville, Fullarton, Goodwood , Highgate, Hyde Park, Kings Park, Malvern, Millswood, Myrtle Bank, Parkside, Unley, Unley Park, and Wayville. The council is headquartered in Unley.

Unley City Council has 13 members, twelve councilors are elected by residents of the six wards (two each from Fullarton, Goodwood, Goodwood South, Parkside, Unley and Unley Park Ward). These six districts are determined independently of the districts. The council chairman and mayor (mayor) is also elected by all residents of the city.
