Unnur Eiríksdóttir

Unnur Eiríksdóttir (* 1921 ; † 1976 ) was an Icelandic writer and translator.

Life

Unnur Eiríksdóttir grew up with foster parents in the southern part of Iceland. She attended evening school , took courses, and took private lessons. Professionally, she worked as an office worker in Reykjavík . From 1961 to 1964 she was the editor of a children's newspaper.

She wrote radio plays for children and young people. In addition, she published a novel as well as volumes of short stories and poems. She also translated works by Camilla Collett , Jean-Paul Sartre and Friedrich Dürrenmatt into Icelandic.
