The Lower Engadine Museum

The Lower Engadine Museum ( Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Vallader Museum d'Engiadina Bassa ) is a regional museum of local history and folklore in Scuol, Lower Engadine . It is housed in the Chà Gronda (= Big House) in Scuol Sot on the Plaz . The patrician house with medieval structure was renovated in 1702-04 and expanded to its present size.

The entire inventory of the traditional Engadine house with all its rooms is shown, as well as former agricultural equipment from the Lower Engadine and natural history objects.

The first Rhaeto-Romanic Bible produced in the Scuol printing house from 1679 is also one of the permanent exhibits.
