The Entrepreneurs' Association South Tyrol has around 500 member companies with 30,000 employees and was founded in 1945. It is the association of industrially organized companies in South Tyrol and belongs to the umbrella association of Italian industry, Confindustria . The Entrepreneurs Association South Tyrol works with elected, voluntary association officials and full-time employees. The association officials are entrepreneurs and executive employees in member companies and represent the concerns of their group, their district and the association as well as entrepreneurship. Their role is regulated in the association statute. The full-time employees are employees of the association. The seat of the association is in Bolzano .

Industry in South Tyrol

The industry (manufacturing, mining , construction , energy and water supply ) contributes more than any other sector of the economy to GDP in South Tyrol at.

The total added value created in South Tyrol (= sum of the income from employment, the operating results of the companies and the tenders) amounts to 15.9 billion euros for the year 2011. The companies of the employers' association employ around 30,000 people; If you also include the branches outside of South Tyrol, the number of employees increases to around 40,000. 12.1% of the employees in South Tyrol work in the UVS companies, but the share of personnel costs is 17.1%; UVS companies therefore pay 1/3 higher wages on average.

Stefan Pan was elected President of the South Tyrol Business Association in spring 2010. He is supported by four vice presidents.

Young entrepreneurs

The young entrepreneurs are a group of entrepreneurs within the South Tyrol Entrepreneur Association.

Membership in the group of young entrepreneurs is voluntary. Members must meet the following requirements:

  • they must be entrepreneurs themselves, children of entrepreneurs or shareholders in member companies and participate in or know about the business activity
  • they must be senior executives with proven management activity at a member company of the employers' association. In this case, the owner or the legal representative of the member company must give his consent in writing and confirm the functions performed by the person concerned
  • they must be between 18 and 40 years old.

The group of young entrepreneurs has its own governing body, which is elected every three years by the assembly. The assembly consists of all young South Tyrolean entrepreneurs belonging to the group.

The governing body consists of a president, one or more vice-presidents, a past-president (the previous president), a board of directors and a secretary who is appointed by the employers' association among its own employees. Marius Eccel has been President of Young Entrepreneurs since 2010.

The group currently has 79 members and was founded in 1971.

At the national level, the group has 11,200 members, divided into 105 territorial groups and 20 regional committees.

The Small Business Committee

In 2010, the small business committee was elected for the first time within the employers' association. According to the association's statutes, companies with up to 35 employees belong to this group. The small business owners committee has the same number of members as the number of districts plus one other member from the district with the most small businesses.
