The Uncial 050 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ; von Soden A L1 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament , which is dated to the 9th century. The handwriting is incomplete.

description

The manuscript includes almost the entire Gospel according to John on 19 sheets of parchment with many gaps. It has a format of 32.5 × 24 cm. The parchment is not fine, the ink is black-brown. The text is in a column with 5–9 lines. Alcohol asper , alcohol lenis and accents are available. The manuscript contains Katene . The comments are written in lower case letters.

The manuscript contains the text John 1: 1, 3–4; 2.17-3.8.12-13.20-22; 4.7-14; 20.10-13.15-17.

Verse 21.25 repeats itself twice, verse 20.17 even three times.

The Greek text of the Codex is assigned to category III .

In John 3:12 there is the text variant πιστευετε (you believe) - instead of πιστευσετε (you will believe) - as well as in the manuscripts Papyrus 75 and Uncial 083 .

This manuscript was written in the Dionysiu monastery on Mount Athos . She was examined by Tregelles and Tischendorf . It is now divided into four parts:
