Up Park Camp

The Up Park Camp , sometimes also spelled Up-Park Camp , in the heart of Kingston was the headquarters of the British Army in Jamaica from the late 18th century . It has been the headquarters of the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) since Jamaica gained independence in 1962 . The area, which was expanded in the 19th century, used to house the West India Regiment . The South Camp Adult Correctional Center military prison , a military museum, a military cemetery of honor and the Garrison Church are also located on the site .
