Uroš Kovačević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Урош Ковачевић ; born May 6, 1993 in Kraljevo , Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian volleyball player .

Career

Kovačević started his career in 2003 at Ribnica Kraljevo. In 2010 he moved to the Slovenian first division club ACH Volley Ljubljana . In 2011 the outside attacker won the World Cup and the European Youth Championship with the Serbian offspring; while he was recognized as the most valuable player. In the same year he played with the senior national team at the European Championship , where he also won the title in the final against Italy . Because of these successes, he was honored by the Olympic Committee as the best young athlete. In 2012, Uroš Kovačević was together with his older brother Nikola in the official Serbian squad for the Olympic Games in London and finished ninth. He then moved to Italy to Pallavolo Modena , where he won the Italian Cup in 2015. With Blu Volley Verona , Kovačević won the European Challenge Cup in 2016 . After a brief stint at Al-Arabi Doha and first place in the world league with the national team, he returned to Blu Volley Verona in September 2016.
