Urs Buehrer

Urs Bührer (born December 13, 1942 ) is a Swiss composer, organist and music teacher.

Bührer studied composition and counterpoint with Paul Müller and piano with Walter Frey and Karl Engel at the Zurich University of Music and Theater . Afterwards he was an organ student of Eduard Müller at the Basel Music Academy . In Paris he continued his organ training with Gaston Litaize and studied composition and instrumentation with Pierre Wissmer .

Bührer teaches music theory at the church music department at the Zurich University of Music. He gives piano and organ concerts and is an organist in Wallisellen. As a composer he mainly performed with chamber music and organ works.
