Urs Graf (politician)

Urs Graf (born May 7, 1957 ; resident in Küttigen ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Urs Graf completed a law degree . In addition to his position as mayor of Interlaken , he works as a lecturer in the economics department of the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH . Graf is married and lives in Interlaken.

Urs Graf was elected to the local council and mayor of Interlaken in 2004. He was re-elected in 2008 and 2012, and in 2016 he was quietly elected for his last possible term. Graf moved up to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern for Christoph Ammann , who was elected to the government council, and was re-elected in the 2018 elections. He was a member of the Security Commission from 2016 to 2018 and has been a member of the Commission for State Policy and External Relations since 2018.

Graf is President of the Economic and Tourism Commission as well as a member of the management of the Personnel Commission of the municipality of Interlaken. He is a member of the management of the Oberland Ost regional conference as well as the Bernese Oberland Economics Association and member of the board of the Trachten und Alphirtenfest association , the sponsoring association of the Unspunnen Festival . Graf is a member of the board of directors of Interlaken Congress & Events AG , Harderbahn AG and Parkhaus Zentrum AG as well as chairman of the board of directors of real estate company Interlaken AG and vice-chairman of the board of directors of Bank EKI Genossenschaft .
