Urs Nussbaumer

Urs Nussbaumer (born October 2, 1931 in Hauenstein-Ifenthal ) is a Swiss engineer-agronomist and politician ( CVP ).

Life

Urs Nussbaumer studied at the ETH Zurich and graduated with a Dipl. Ing.-Agr. He worked as an assistant at the Federal Research Institute for Crop Production in Zurich . From 1971 to 1996 he was secretary of the Solothurn farmers' association. He founded six farm cooperatives to develop the mountain farms in the Solothurn Jura .

Nussbaumer was a member of the economic council of the canton of Solothurn and the cantonal spatial planning commission . From 1979 to 1991 he was a member of the National Council as a member of the Christian Democratic People's Party.
