Urs Wild

Urs Paul Rolf Wild (* 17th April 1936 in Winterthur ; heimatberechtigt in Gossau , Winterthur and Zurich ) is a Swiss chemist and Emeritus Professor of Physical Chemistry .

Life

Wild studied chemistry at the ETH Zurich . After a stay at the University of Kansas , he received his doctorate on flash photolysis as an academic student of Hans H. Günthard (1916–2006) at the ETH Zurich . In 1972 he was elected assistant professor at the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry at ETH Zurich. From 1977 he was an associate professor and from 1984 a full professor. He retired in 2001. Since 2000 he has been a corresponding member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences .
