Ursula Dethleffs (born November 6, 1933 in Ottersweier ; † May 7, 1994 in Isny im Allgäu ) was a German artist.

Life

She was born as the daughter of the factory owner Arist Dethleffs and his wife Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann in Ottersweier near Bühl / Baden. As a pioneer, Arist Dethleffs built the first caravan in Germany, see Dethleffs company . Her mother Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann had become known as one of the recognized artists of the New Objectivity - her self-portrait was published in many art-historical works. Ursula Dethleffs lived and worked in Isny ​​until her death in 1994.

In 1943 Ursula Dethleffs created the first reverse glass pictures; two years later her first tapestries, ceramics and woodcuts . 1946 pen drawings, linocuts ; first exhibitions in Ehingen, Reutlingen, Karlsruhe, Ravensburg and Konstanz. In 1950 she won the Saulgau Youth Art Prize and took part in the exhibition of the Neue Gruppe in the Haus der Kunst in Munich (also in 1952). 1950–52 she was a student of Richard Ott in Munich. Also in 1952 extensive exhibition activities began in France, Italy, Holland, Belgium, CSSR, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Canada and the USA. Travels to Italy, Spain, Russia and the Third World.
