Ursula Schönberger

Ursula Schönberger (born April 14, 1962 in Munich ) is a political scientist, nuclear policy expert and project manager of the critical specialist portal Atommüllreport.de .

Career

After graduating from high school in Munich in 1981, Schönberger first studied political science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and later at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In 1991 she successfully completed her master's degree. From 1986 she worked as a draftsman in a Braunschweig civil engineering office. From 1994 to 1998 she was a member of the German Bundestag for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . From 1999 to 2002 and 2005 to 2013 she worked as a research assistant for members of the German Bundestag, first with Annelie Buntenbach , then with Ulla Lötzer .

With the 272-page "Inventory of nuclear waste" in 2013, Schönberger gave a complete overview of nuclear waste in Germany for the first time. The work is u. a. has been included in the holdings of the library of the German Bundestag. In continuation of this work, the online platform atommuellreport.de was set up, with Schönberger as the project manager. In this role she was invited as an expert in the Environment Committee of the German Bundestag in 2015.

Memberships

From 1980 to 1985 Schönberger belonged to the peace movement and from 1980 to 1986 was a member of the German Peace Society - United War Resisters Munich. In 1985 she joined the anti-nuclear movement and became a member of the GREEN in 1986. In 2002 she resigned from the party mainly because of their consent to military operations. She is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Schacht Konrad eV, the German Alpine Club and the IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt .
