Ustad Zakhil

Ustad Zakhil actually: Din Mohammad Zakhil (Pashto: محمد دين زاخيل - better known as Ustad Zakhil) was an Afghan singer and composer .

Ustad Zakhi was from Nangarhar and was a Pashtun . He has composed more than 700 songs for many Afghan singers, including the songs Da Zamoong Zeeba Watan , Pa Loyo Ghro Banday Ra Taw Shwal Toofanona and Sanga Meena Zma Sta Wa .

The lyrics and music of "Wro Wro Kaigda Qadamoona Ashna", which was used in the Hollywood film The Passion of the Christ , was composed and created by him. The song was originally recorded by his wife Qamar Gula in 1974 on Radio Afghanistan Studio. After the film was released, the Zakhil family hired a lawyer to enforce the song's copyright. The film and music directors of The Passion of the Christ were later sued for it.
