Uta Schellhaaß

Uta Schellhaaß (born June 27, 1944 in Finsterbrunnertal ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2006 to 2011 she was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Schellhaaß graduated from high school in 1964 and then studied economics at Saarland University until 1969. As a graduate economist, she was employed as a research assistant at the Saarland University until 1977. From 1977 to 1999 she was managing director of a hospital in Saarbrücken and Waldbreitbach.

Schellhaaß has been a member of the FDP since 1970. She was a long-time member of the regional board of the FDP-Saar and chairwoman of the local association St. Johann-Nord. She was an expert on the Federal Committee for Social Affairs, Family and Health. From 1974 to 1977 she was a member of the Saarbrücken City Council , where she was parliamentary group leader from 1975. In 2006 she became a member of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, where she was a member of the Committee for Equality and the Advancement of Women and a member of the Committee for Environment and Forests. She was not re-elected in the 2011 state election.

Uta Schellhaaß is a committed member of the Evangelical Church. From 2004 to 2015 she held the office of presbyter of the Protestant parish Rengsdorf, church district Wied, and was a member of the supervisory board of the Evangelical social station in Straßenhaus.
