Ute Baum (literary scholar)

Ute Baum (* 1937 in Dresden ) is a German literary scholar and translator .

Life

After studying German at the University of Leipzig , she worked as an assistant to Professor Hans Mayer . She did her doctorate on Bertolt Brecht's relationship to Shakespeare . She worked as a dramaturge at various theaters, for the last 15 years at the Dresden State Theater . Numerous translations come from her, especially dramas from Russian.
