Ute Schneider (book scholar)

Ute Schneider (born April 9, 1960 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German book scholar .

Life

She studied book science, German literature and sociology, received her doctorate in 1994 ( Friedrich Nicolais Allgemeine Deutsche Bibliothek as the integration medium of the Republic of Scholars) and qualified as a professor in 2001. She is Academic Director at the Institute for Book Studies at the University of Mainz and editor of Imprimatur. A yearbook for book lovers (since 2002).

Her main research interests are the services and functions of the book medium, forms of book use, historical and current reading research, interactions between the history of science and books, the book market and publishing history from the 18th to the 21st century, electronic publishing: Karl Gutzkow's work edition on the Internet - New profile of an author and publishing organization in the 20th century (focus: editing).
