The name Uchan-Su means "falling water" when translated from the Crimean Tatar language.

Uchan-Su waterfall is a popular tourist attraction and, at 98.5 meters high, is one of the highest waterfalls in Ukraine. The waterfall has two levels. On the first level there is a small building with a sculpture of an eagle.

natural reserve

1947 uchan-su was declared a nature reserve and is since 1973 part of the 14,523 ha large Yalta mountain forest nature reserve .

Water drainage

On an annual average, 50 liters of water flow through the waterfall per second. However, the amount of runoff is distributed very differently depending on the season. While the waterfall is sometimes frozen in severe winters and almost dried up in summer, it carries most of the water in the spring after the snow has melted .
