Uwe-Bernd Griesert (* 1944 in Königsberg ; † September 8, 2017 in Gummersbach ) was a German non-party member of the district council in the Rhein-Sieg district , formerly a member of the PDS .

Griesert had a degree in marketing and business administration . He made headlines on October 15, 2004, when it became known that he, as the elected PDS top candidate in the Rhein-Sieg district in the 2004 local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, wanted to form a "technical faction" with the right-wing extremist groups NPD and Germany . in order to obtain parliamentary group status and financial contributions from the district. The Higher Administrative Court in Münster rejected this request in the final instance by decision of January 24, 2005, as there was a lack of fundamental political agreement. The group then filed a lawsuit with the Federal Constitutional Court , which was also dismissed .

Griesert was called upon by PDS politicians at all levels to give up his mandate and an immediate motion to expel him was made against him. He anticipated this on the afternoon of October 15, 2004 with a written resignation from the party.

Griesert left the district council at the end of the 2009 election period.

On September 8, 2017, Griesert died in the hospital in Gummersbach as a result of a heart attack. He left behind his wife and a daughter.
