Uwe-Volkmar Köck (born July 14, 1953 in Bitterfeld ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life

Uwe-Volkmar Köck finished the extended secondary school in 1972 . This was followed up in 1979 a study of biology , graduating with a diploma biologist at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg . From 1979 he prepared for his doctorate , which he completed in 1982, by studying research . From 1981 to 1991 he was employed as a research assistant at the Martin Luther University. Köck has been an independent and managing partner in a GmbH since 1992 .

He is married and has two children.

politics

Before joining the PDS, Köck was a member of the SED . Since 1990 he has been a member of the city ​​council of Halle . Since 1998 ( 3rd electoral term ) he has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt for his party . Köck was elected to the state parliament in constituency 36 ( Hall I ). He sits for his parliamentary group in the Committee on Regional Development and Transport and in the Committee on the Environment.
