Uwe Dorendorf (* 4. June 1960 in Dannenberg ) is a German politician of the CDU and since 2017 member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1978, Dorendorf first worked as a police officer for the Federal Border Guard . In 1985 he moved to Hamburg-Mannheimer-Versicherungs-AG as structural manager and worked from 1988 to 1990 as sales manager at Magdeburg Insurance Group Hanover. This was followed by other activities in the insurance industry. Since December 1997 he has been the owner of an agency of VGH Insurance in Clenze and Lüneburg . He is also an honorary member of the banking, insurance and real estate committee of the IHK Lüneburg-Wolfsburg .

Dorendorf is the first chairman of the CDU district association Lüchow-Dannenberg. He has been a councilor of the Fleckens Clenze since 2006 and a member of the district council of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district since 2011 .

In the state elections in October 2017 , Dorendorf won the direct mandate for the CDU in constituency 48 (Elbe) and moved into the Lower Saxony state parliament as a member. In Parliament he is a member of the Committee on Environment, Energy, Building and Climate Protection and the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

Uwe Dorendorf is married and has two children.
