Uwe Kemmling

Uwe Kemmling (born November 1, 1960 ) is a former German football referee .

Career

The man from Burgwedel whistled his first game in the 1st Bundesliga in October 1995. This was followed by a further 114 appearances in the first division, 45 in the second division and 7 in the DFB Cup . He also led league cup games, games in the regional league and a relegation game to the second division.

Kemmling became famous when he played a clear handball by Schalke's Oliver Held at the Bundesliga match between FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Köln on April 29, 1998 on the 27th matchday of the 1997/1998 Bundesliga season when the score was 0-0 not rated as such in his own penalty area. He questioned the hero; he denied having played the ball by hand. Cologne lost the game 1-0 and were relegated to the second division at the end of the season .

Private

Kemmling is a trained administrator. He is divorced and has two children.
