Uwe Komischke (* 1961 in Schwelm / North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a classical solo trumpeter.

After his musical training, he began his career at the age of 18 as first solo trumpeter in the Gelsenkirchen Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1983 he moved to the same position with the Munich Philharmonic under their chief conductor Sergiu Celibidache .

Uwe Komischke was born in Schwelm / North Rhine-Westphalia in 1961. Uwe Komischke can be heard as a soloist not only in numerous concerts at home and abroad, but also on various CD productions. Composers such as Hans Stadlmair or Peter Michael Hamel dedicate works to him and at festivals he repeatedly works with well-known soloists such as Yuri Bashmet, Eduard Brunner or Vassily Lobanov or ensembles such as the Moscow Soloists.

The recording of the concert in E flat major by Josef Haydn with the Munich Philharmonic under Sergiu Celibidache caused a stir. His performances of the 2nd Brandenburg Concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach also show his extraordinary class as a musician and instrumentalist.

On the occasion of a master class at the SENZOKU GAKUEN University for Music in Tokyo, he was offered a visiting professorship in 1993.

Since September 1994 Uwe Komischke has been teaching as a professor for trumpet at the Liszt School of Music Weimar.

After many years of collaboration with the Aichi University of the Arts, there were several exchange visits and joint concerts. On the occasion of the RKM in Weimar, Uwe Komischke made his debut as a conductor with works by Richard Strauss (suite from Der Rosenkavalier) and a cross-section of the opera Lohengrin by Richard Wagner. He is also a visiting professor at Aichi University of the Arts.

In 2015 there was a first concert tour to China (Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing), also with students, during which he performed both as a soloist and as a conductor a. a. worked with the Jiagsu Symphony Orchestra. A second trip to China is planned for 2017. [outdated]

In Europe, he and his organist Thorsten Pech play around 45–55 concerts per year in the trumpet & organ line-up.

Trumpet and organ

Uwe Komischke has been working closely with the Wuppertal concert organist and director of the Düsseldorf Bach Society, Thorsten Pech , since 1991. During this period the two artists have given more than 1150 concerts in Germany, Europe, the USA and not least in Japan. The two musicians also deal with the trumpet / corno da caccia and organ repertoire and have therefore founded the Corpete music publisher in addition to their numerous CD productions. All published works have been available from Edition DieWa'in Munich since 2016.

Projects

A project by the ensemble Best of Brass is Richard Wagner's “The Ring of the Nibelung without timpani - but with trumpets”, which premiered on April 13, 2008 at DASA in Dortmund. The ring was arranged by Werner Lemberg and individual members of Best of Brass and underlined with texts by Franz-Peter Kothes, using quotes from works by Richard and Cosima Wagner , as well as by Friedrich Nietzsche , by the well-known chamber and television actor Claus Dieter Clausnitzer will be presented.
