Uwe Menzel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Uwe Menzel (* 1974 in Potsdam ) is a German neo-Nazi , musician and singer of German rock against communism . He played in various band projects and had independent bands. Its scene name Uwocaust alludes specifically to the Holocaust . He is considered to be a major player in Brandenburg in promoting right-wing extremist young bands and maintains contacts with the right-wing extremist music scene in Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Menzel became known with his first band project, Proissenheads, which spread "dull racism clichés" and performed nationwide at concerts by the banned group Blood & Honor . This band rehearsed from 1995 to 1998 as part of an integrative youth project in a city youth club in Potsdam, until the youth welfare office announced that the band had been classified as right-wing extremist. The work of the band in the youth club became known through research into anti-fascist structures in Potsdam. Menzel himself described gas chambers as "the most useful invention of mankind".

Another media scandal was the unmasking of the V-man Carsten Szczepanski in July 2000. He should pass on information from the scene to the Protection of the Constitution. Szczepanski had a previous conviction for a xenophobic violent crime. Szczepanski was also involved in an illegal arms trade. The Potsdam District Court imposed a fine on Menzel and Carsten Szczepanski in this connection. Carsten Szczepanski was accepted into a witness protection program after his exposure .

Music style and lyrics

Musically, each individual project is very different. In contrast to Uwocaust and Alte Freunde and Proissenheads, the projects Burn Down and Bloodshed fall under the Hatecore division .

In 2012 the Thuringian band Sonderkommando Dirlewanger (SKD), which is close to the Blood and Honor network, recorded a solidarity CD for Ralf Wohlleben with 14 other right-wing rock bands . Uwocaust & old friends were also represented there.
