Várzea Cova is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Várzea Cova belongs to the district Fafe in Braga District . The community had an area of ​​11.9 km² and 354 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Várzea Cova and Moreira do Rei were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Moreira do Rei e Várzea Cova .
