Völlenerkönigsfehn

The place Völlenerkönigsfehn ( ostfriesisch jokingly Hunstērt called ) became part of the municipal reform of 1 January 1973 for the district Völlen the municipality of Westoverledingen in East Friesland .

history

Völlenerkönigsfehn was built after Völlenerfehn around 1800. The place was officially mentioned in 1805 for the first time. The village is a mainly populated in the 19th century Moor colony , in ecclesiastical terms Völlen was assigned.

Development of the place name

Völlenerkönigsfehn was first officially mentioned as Hondesteert around 1805 . Other traditional names are Hundemakerei , Hundesteert (1823) and Völlener Königsfehn , Hundemakerei or Hundesteert (1871). The name Hondesteert is traced back to the dog carts that were used by the very poor first colonists.

The place got its current name from the fact that the settlement took place on the moor belonging to the crown.
