V.Group Limited , with its subsidiary V.Ships based in St Johns on the UK Isle of Man , claims to be the world's largest provider of ship management services. In 2008, the privately owned company managed a fleet of over 1,000 ships. Present in 70 offices with 1,600 employees worldwide, the company currently employs over 24,000 people on board ships.

history

As early as 1984, the shipowner Boris Vlasov , of Russian descent and operating from Monaco , brought together the numerous shipping companies founded by himself and previously by his father Alexandre Vlasov under a parent company called the V.Group. The internationally best-known and most important company of the group was Sitmar-Lines , which between 1938 and 1988 had a major influence on the world-wide cruise shipping and also the passenger shipbuilding .

After the death of Boris Vlasov in 1988, the heirs, who belong to the Roman Lefebvre family, ran the company under the name V.Group and V.Ships . They developed it into a global shipping services company. In July 2011 the group was taken over by OMERS Private Equity, the private equity subsidiary of the Canadian state pension fund Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System (OMERS).

V.Ships, based in Monaco, is a provider of shipping services for more than 1000 ships. This includes the management of tankers , container ships and research vessels through offices around the world.

• Through V.Ships Leisure with offices in Monaco, Miami, Singapore and Southampton, V.Ships covers the leisure sector and offers integrated deck and machine management as well as hotel services for cruise ships , ferries , yachts and other passenger ships.
