V. Ganapathy Iyer

V. Ganapathy Iyer ( Tamil வி. கணபதி அய்யர் ; born November 10, 1906 , † June 13, 1987 ) was an Indian mathematician.

Life

Iyer received his PhD from R. Vaidyanathaswamy at the University of Madras and was a professor at Annamalai University .

He dealt with real and complex analysis , especially whole functions, whereby he also applied techniques of functional analysis to spaces of whole functions.

With SM Shah (* 1905) he was one of the first Indian mathematicians to take up the Nevanlinna theory .
