The VC Straubing was a volleyball club in Straubing, Lower Bavaria .
history
The women of VC Straubing played in the 2nd Bundesliga South from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s . In 1988/89 and 1991/92 they were champions here and were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga , where they played three seasons (1989/90, 1990/91 and 1992/93). During this time, the former national players Terry Place-Brandel , Sylvia Laug , Ae Hee Kim-Götz , Michaela Luckner and Silke Meyer were also active in Straubing. From the mid-1990s, women only played in the Regionalliga Südost. VC Straubing continued to be very successful in Bavaria in terms of youth work. After most of the players switched to local rivals FTSV Straubing , VC Straubing was dissolved in 2001.
