Terry Place-Brandel (now Terry Schättler) (born September 15, 1957 in Hawthorne , California ) is a former German-American volleyball player .

Terry Place had played 289 international matches for the United States and was fifth in the 1978 World Cup . Then she married the press spokesman for the German volleyball association, Christian Brandel. After her naturalization, she made 312 international matches for Germany . In 1984 she took part with the German national volleyball team at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , where she finished sixth. In 1983 she was voted volleyball player of the year . The universal player won six German championships with SV Lohhof .

Terry Schättler now works as a physiotherapist in Munich. In 2015 she won the 50+ World Championship in the USA with the senior national team.
