Silke Meyer (today Schmitt ; born May 13, 1968 in Bliedersdorf ) is a former German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Sports career hall

Meyer started playing volleyball indoors at VfL Bad Zwischenahn in 1981 . From 1987 she played for the top German club Bayern Lohhof , with whom she became German champion straight away . For the national team , she completed 65 internationals.

Sports career beach

Meyer started in Sand in 1993 at the side of Andrea Lipp (now Ahmann). In 1996 she became German runner- up with Maike Friedrichsen , in 1999 she reached third place in the German championship with Andrea Lipp and in 2000 the duo Lipp / Meyer (alias Ahmann / Schmitt) became German runner-up . After three more successful years with Gudula Staub and Katrin Petzold , Meyer ended her career in sand in 2003 because of knee problems.
