The VEE Sachsen e. V. - Association for the Promotion of the Use of Renewable Energies was founded in Dresden in 1995 as the only cross-industry association to improve the framework conditions for renewable energies in Saxony . The association advocates the interests of wind energy , bioenergy , hydropower , geothermal energy , solar thermal energy , photovoltaics and energy storage .
The non-profit association unites people, companies and institutions who work in the field of the use of renewable energies as well as training and further education, the development and manufacture of systems and individual components or who want to promote work in this field.
purpose
As a cross-industry association with 115 members, the association is committed to the issues of renewable energies in Saxony. The association represents the whole range of renewable energies from wind, water, sun, geothermal energy, bioenergy and storage.
aims
Members and officials are convinced that there is no avoiding a complete switch to renewable energy sources in order to ensure climate protection and the preservation of livelihoods for future generations. Because, the association is certain, renewable energies promote Germany as an industrial location, conserve our resources and ensure our independence from raw material imports. The decentralized generation creates security of supply and jobs locally and ensures stable electricity prices. Switching the energy supply in the Free State of Saxony completely to renewable energies is the association's long-term goal.
In order to support the change in the Saxon energy industry, the association u. a. represented with several members in the energy advisory board of the Saxon state government and in three of the four Saxon regional planning associations.
The association promotes and mediates the exchange of experiences for projects from all areas of renewable energies and also acts as an advisor to Saxon educational institutions in the development of new training and further education concepts. On behalf of the Saxon Energy Agency - SAENA - he also prepares an annual employment study on renewable energies in Saxony.
Organization and members
The president is Wolfgang Daniels from Dresden. The office has been headed by Matthias Gehling since April 1, 2014. The association currently has 115 members from the fields of business, politics, science, culture and society. There are several working groups in the association for the individual sub-areas of renewable energies.
In addition to many individual members, around 25 companies with around 950 employees are represented in the VEE.
