The VRGB Gießen 1953 eV is a sports club from Gießen .
history
It was founded in 1953 as a disabled sports club. It was the initiative of people who were injured and damaged by war. In the usual sports clubs they did not find any sports that could take their disabilities into account.
Of course, the structure of the membership changed over time. The target group of the "disabled" became the group of the handicapped and the health impaired. If the "R" for rehabilitation is at the fore in the name of the association, it is open to all interested parties, regardless of whether they are disabled or not.

Disabled sports championships
In 2014, the women's team in Bosseln (rehab sport) won the title of Hesse champion. This qualified them for participation in the German championship in Sondershausen . There the team reached the 13th place.
2015: Men: Hessian runner-up, women: 3rd of the Hessen Championship
