history

The roots of the cooperative go back to the savings and advance payment association Kitzingen , which was founded in 1867. In 1919 the legal form was changed from an association to a cooperative. The new headquarters in Luitpoldstrasse was built in 1954. In 1991, Raiffeisenbank and Volksbank merged to form VR Bank Kitzingen eG.

VR Bank Kitzingen eG has been organizing the VR Bank Kitzingen Bonus Run since 2008 . Associations and non-profit organizations from the bank's business area with up to 50 runners can register for this. For every participant, VR Bank Kitzingen eG donates € 10 to the organization concerned. In 2016, more than 4,700 runners and walkers took part in the 9th VR Bank Kitzingen Bonus Run, so the total amount of € 47,500 was donated.
