VW Nivus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VW Nivus is a compact SUV from Volkswagen , based on the MQB-A0 platform ( modular transverse matrix ) and the VW T-Cross (coupé derivative). The market launch will take place in Brazil in mid-2020, in the rest of South America in early 2021 and finally in Europe towards the end of 2021. In the popular B-SUV segment in Europe, the vehicle is positioned similarly to the T-Roc , T-Cross and MEB Entry SUV models .

The Nivus is the first vehicle / derivative development with global relevance by Volkswagen do Brasil . Shortly after the start of production of the T-Cross, VW announced the development of a “New Urban Coupé” and a third model for Pamplona (SOP H2 / 2021).

The Nivus is a pioneer in emerging markets in assistance systems (first in the segment in Brazil with ACC / adaptive cruise control) and connectivity (VW Play from Visteon, first with wireless smartphone mirroring). As with the platform brother T-Cross, certain drive options are reserved for the more complex kits, which means that neither all-wheel drive (MQB-A1) nor modular electric drive kits are provided.

production

The Nivus is produced in Brazil and Spain at the following locations:

  • Anchieta, São Bernardo do Campo, Taubaté, Volkswagen do Brasil , (separate from T-Cross)
  • Pamplona , Spain, Volkswagen Navarra SA, (together with T-Cross)
