Assistance system
Assistance systems include all types of information that assist a user in using a product.
Driver assistance system
Assistance systems are often built into motor vehicles in order to support the driver in certain driving situations. Possible functionalities are e.g. As lane departure warning , an adaptive cruise control , lane change assist and emergency brake assist .
Assistance systems in application software
Assistance systems in application software offer specific information and assistance to facilitate operation. These include, for example:
- Labeling of the user interface (such as title bar, labels for menus, buttons, fields)
- Tooltips / Bubble Help
- Messages
- Wizard (Wizards)
- context-sensitive help (on element and dialog level)
- context-free help
Assistance systems are divided into primary assistance and secondary assistance:
- Primary assistance: All information that is visible on the user interface at first glance without a user having to do anything (e.g. labels, status bar, etc.).
- Secondary assistance: All information that is not visible at first glance and for which a user has to do something first (e.g. tooltip: move the mouse).
