The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is a rally vehicle for use in the World Rally Championship . The car was built at Volkswagen Motorsport under the direction of technical director Willy Rampf , technical project manager for World Rally Championship François-Xavier Demaison and head of VW racing engine development Donatus Wichelhaus .

In addition to the rally vehicle, Volkswagen also presented a street version of the vehicle limited to 2500 vehicles. The vehicle sold as the Polo R WRC Street with a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine has an output of 162 kW (220 PS) and was offered from September 2013 to March 2014.
