Vadamarachchi ( Tamil : வடமராட்சி Vaṭamarāṭci [ ˈʋaɖəməraːʈʂi ]) is a region on the Jaffna Peninsula in the northern province of Sri Lanka .

The Vadamarachchi region occupies the northeastern part of the Jaffna Peninsula and has an area of ​​296 square kilometers. Vadamarachchi is separated from the regions of Valikamam in the west and Thenmarachchi in the south by the Vadamarachchi lagoon . To the northeast lies the coast of the Bay of Bengal . The largest city is Point Pedro . Administratively, Vadamarachchi belongs to the Jaffna district and comprises the divisions Vadamarachchi East, Vadamarachchi North and Vadamarachchi South-West.
