Coordinates: 8 ° 31 ′ 23.9 ″ S , 179 ° 11 ′ 40.9 ″ E The Vaiaku Lagi is a hotel in the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu . It is the only hotel in the country and is located in Vaiaku , the main village on the west coast of Fongafale Island in the capital, Funafuti .
The hotel was built in 1993 with the support of the Republic of China (Taiwan) . It has 16 rooms with a private bathroom and some with a balcony, as well as a restaurant and bar.
